We decided to have a yard sale to get rid of some of the clothes and toys my kids have outgrown as well as get rid of some other stuff we didn’t want or need. We don’t have any tables to use so we made the best of it with a blanket on the ground and two small stands, not to mention the kitchen chairs. We live on a pretty busy road so we figured it would work and we out out signs at the end of the driveway.
We hadn’t realized two town’s nearby were having their town wide sales this weekend and the park up the street on the corner was having a free rabies clinic today. We had a family stop and just as we were picking up another lady stopped. That was it. I was kind of hoping of getting rid of this stuff. The clothes were a dollar a Walmart bag full.A lot of people looked as they were driving by, but no one stopped. My 6 year old daughter kept asking me when someone was going to stop. I didn’t know what to say.
We were planning to try on Sunday as well, but if it’s going to be raining with hail mixed in I am not sitting out there all day again. At least the weather was nice and the rain held off until after we got done picking up.We’ll see how the weather is tomorrow. We will try again next weekend too.
The downstairs lady didn’t seem all the thrilled because she thinks she owns the porch and the back yard. Oh well the landlord said we could use the porch too. The gate to the backyard is on her side so we let it go. Besides the neighbor let our kids use his yard.
Hopefully next weekend will prove more fruitful.
I had a sale last month. I also didn’t realize there were two big community garage sales going on. I did terrible!
Good luck for next week then… 🙂
